  Uncharted Stars

  I’m taking part in the Sketchbook Project World Tour 2012 and this is my first work in my sketchbook (inside the back cover, as working back-to-front is a habit I picked up a while ago). My theme this year is ‘Uncharted Waters.’ This is done with dark blue acrylic paint and silver sharpie marker.

  Pattern Sampler Nr1

  A small sampler to try out some new textures in a ‘star and cross’ pattern I recently came across in a book, ‘Islamic Art in Detail’ (a publication from The British Museum Press, ed. Sheila R. Canby, 2005, pp74-77). Some of the textures are more successful than others but then that’s why this is termed a ‘sampler’ and not a finished zentangle.

  Bead Monster

  A little craft store here in town stamps its insignia on all their paper bags. I thought the design would make an interesting shape to trace around and here is the result.
