2012May 13tags: ink | Ira | musician | sax | songsMusician Alex. It was pretty surprising to hear my childhood songs highlighted by saxophone, while I was drawing trees and brunches for old people. My father use to collect songs, so I heard many from old times and they dear to my heart.
I outlined the figure of musician and the rest dissolved into the light. I used ink and gold watercolor for saxophone, it doesn’t scan well. -
2012May 13The Ten Bells, a Victorian pub in Spitalfields, East London. Sometimes referred to as a “Jack the Ripper pub”.
Just finished re-reading Alan Moore’s graphic novel From Hell, in which the Ten Bells is visited quite often. So thought I’d re-visit with a sketch. Across the street is Nicholas Hawksmoor’s Christ Church, which also features heavily in From Hell. -

We go fishing once a month but not in the accepted sense. We actually visit a great fishmonger based next to Newhaven Harbour. Last visit “netted” around £35 worth of varied stuff. This was the view from the door of the shop.
