Autumn on Fuji
Drew and coloured over two weeks.
Originally I had a scholar sitting there, but I just couldn’t finish him so I painted around him and just finally erased him.
It looks like Fuji, but it could just be Mt. Taranaki. Pass the chups.
Materials: Watercolor moleskine, Raphael 830, W&N mixed with Sennelier greens and golds

Queens day, Koninginnedag. In the Netherlands we celebrate our monarchy and queen Beatrix each April 30th, which was last friday. I went to Utrecht, where most of the city was a “freemarket”.
Everyone is allowed to sell stuff. There is food, drink, live bands, music, stalls which sell everything imaginable etc. And a lot of people dress on Orange, the colour representing the monarchy. -

The pale moon was setting this morning as I watched my family fishing on opening trout season day. The air was quiet, many birds singing and creek was gurgling along. Ink and watercolor.
