White fronted bee eater. I never fail to smile when I see one. Prolific here in summer, this fellow was sunning himself on a twig, must have been cold morning cause he fluffed out his feathers while he watched me.

Felt pen, water pastel and light grey brush marker. I washed the water colour with the grey brus marker to desaturate the orange. -

Overpass above Belt Parkway, seems like weird and magic place, like you are flying above noisy city, where nothing matters, only green, dark, leafy solitude. I was thinking to do it in color. But end up using watersoluble graphite.
