Would you guys be interested in a Weekly Contest feature on this site?

I’m not to hot on the idea. I like the relaxed feel of the site. I’ve done the other sites where they have done the contest thing and have been put off by it.
Lets just enjoy the art.
My idea would be to have a contest on a weekly theme. The entries would not be shown on the front page but on a separate page where other people can vote/comment. Only the winning submission would then be promoted to the front page.
It’s cool. Worth a shot.
Do you think it would interfere with the free flow of such random good art?
Or do you think that if that weeks challenge was Cats that people would still want to share and then you would have a page worth of cats?
Just kind of wondering?
Everything else about this place has been enjoyable, so I’m sure that would be top notch as well.
I like the idea of a contest- it motivates! I’d like to see the same theme tackled by all the people here with their different styles.

Would it be an actual contest? Or a theme? And you would keep the same free-form submissions as well? I’d say go for it!
I like the idea of a theme, just to get inspired. And it is always cool to see what others have in mind compare to our own ideas. Maybe it could be there, and only people who wants to do it does it, and others just simply continues posting what they want.
