I still think the background should be more neutral (black, grey or something along these lines) since "petroleum" blue goes better with some posts than others depending very much on the colours in the post itself. (perhaps the Moly colour would do or just keep it white(?)
2. The rugged edges around the FAV hearts should be smoothed.
3. Home, interviews, contributors, etc., should also have icons like the top row.
4. Top 20 favourite posts should also be extended to say 40.
5. When you click on a archives for particular month - top Favs for that month should be shown.
6. When you click on a particular contributor, her/his top faved posts should be on somehow.
In this way people would have more chance to see and fave other contributors' (older) posts - in this (present) way they only open top 20 on a daily basis and Fave them, while for any other, that's close to the top, the chances are meagre since they'd have to dig a lot to find them (which is seldom done)
7. When you open a contributor, the accompanied text should show the basics of the profile for everyone (now it is there only for some), and this could include info on when they joined, how many posts they submitted and other useful info.
Nikira on "We went back in time" https://www.skineart.com/forums/topic.php?id=84#post-838 Mon, 21 Dec 2009 05:29:46 +0000 Nikira 838@https://www.skineart.com/forums/
I like it but I would make the background color a bit lighter, may be 2 shades lighter, text sharper, comments too hard to notice and little squares I would do rounder if its possible. Going back is real acievement. Forth and than back is also good (at least for the lottery). The real problem is when we enter the time loop! I hope we don't.
I'm sorry for my "Boulgakov" mountain-landscape - it was doing extremely well (with over 20 faves in a day) in the last incarnation, and now it's not nearly as good. Then also I've briefly seen some interesting comments on it and the next one (still to come), but hadn't time to reply. Now, I don't remember what they were. If you all repeat your comments, I'd be more than happy to reply...
See you all again on October 8th...
Uncle Bob on "We went back in time" https://www.skineart.com/forums/topic.php?id=84#post-628 Sun, 11 Oct 2009 21:12:01 +0000 Uncle Bob 628@https://www.skineart.com/forums/
Definitely weird. I made one Escheresque front page illustration for my MSc thesis in Hydraulcs (what could illustrate hydraulics better than his "Waterfall"?).
Oddly enough, I didn't include Leonardo for his paintings, but rather his drawings. I can hardly imagine anyone arguing that he would perhaps be one of the most devoted users of Moleskine sketchbooks if they existed 500-odd years ago. Give us your all-time favourites list of painters. Whether you like them, or you think they were the most important, or the most under-rated, or most influential (on yourself or art in general), or whatever other reason. Who would you like on the list? Then Leo or Bob could, say in a semester or so, compile the list of the site's most favoured painters in hystory of art. The list doesn't need to be in order of preference (or it also could be, if your think it's better idea).
For the start, here is my list:
Vermeer (Johannes-Jan Vermeer van Delft)
Paul Klee
Henri Matisse
Claude Monet
Leonardo da Vinci
Salvador Dali
Rene Magritte
Raoul Dufy
Pablo Picasso/Georges Braque
Piet Mondrian
It's hard to end there... whatcanIsay - it's tough task...
