2010Apr 6tags: April 2010 | Theme Challenge | Wish you were hereWish you were here – Ink/Inktense in a Watercolour Moleskine
After Apollo 8 Astronaut William Anders’, photograph “Earthrise”.
The postage stamp, on this “postcard” is copied from a series from the USA. I thought that “Dinosaurs” was quite apt. We don’t have such a set – our leaders haven’t got around to it yet.
As the UK Parliament is about to announce the date for the next General Election we all are bracing ourselves at the prospect of wall to wall news expounding on why we should vote for this or that party. As I get older, and probably more cynical, I can’t help wondering what those in government have been doing for the past few years. I get so tired of all of their promises leading towards a better future – I am banned from watching the television news as I tend to have a running commentary competing with the newscasters. This, therefore, is my twisted piece of advice to all who aspire to lead. Forget about weird policies. Get out into the real world and find out how the world goes around.

Well, I highly wouldn’t encourage you to be here.. But, I don’t have much choice for this kind of theme..
Vegas Style- At least this is an opportunity to do some sketching on people playing the slots.. I’m sure you don’t get this very often unless if you visit the few major gambling hubs like Biloxi/Gulfport, Mississippi; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Reno, Nevada; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Las Vegas, Nevada…
Other than that… It is very lifeless living here when you are a local.. There is no culture, no art inspirations, no museums. Its a big brown desert wasteland with dull-looking mountains and just right in the middle of nowhere, while the better cities (Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and San Francisco) nearby are 5-8 hours drive. Oh, it just depressing while there are no greens and lovely trees you could try sketching/painting…
Alright, I’ll stop rambling on… lol I’m sure you will get the point.. -
