Summer – Watercolour
Another entry for this month’s Challenge. Its a scene from last year and, hopefully, this will be repeated in the months to come – if the rain ever stops.
Thanks to greyseal for reminding me that watercolour still exists

Summer Wine
Inspired by the song (heard on the radio driving through the Red Wood trees of Northern California) and the pleasant taste of fruit wine enjoyed on a warm evening.
What?
My submission for the March 2012 theme challenge (finished in March but not submitted until later due to travel and general business).
First Breath of Summer
Although it is quite early in the season for warm weather (compared to most of the years of my life before the last few), there are lots of hot days and a good deal of warm sunshine to be had here in Morgantown.
Summer(?) – Ink
For this month’s Challenge
Summer time I(when daylight saving time changes are made) started on March 25th this year. The following week saw record temperatures for this month accompanied by loads of sunshine. Doctor’s surgeries and emergency rooms were filled with overeager gardeners suffering from teisted backs and other accidents as lawns were cut and plants planted. We have a saying, here, when anyone mentions good weather. The standard reply is, “Aye, but we’ll pay for it”. We paid for it! On Monday the country had up to 10” of snow blown about into blizzards on a freezing north-easterly wind. That’ll teach us. Fortunately the stuff didn’t lie. We are now back to more normal Easter weather. Summer was on a Wednesday here (the day of highest temperatures).
Have you been wondering why the guy who runs ‘skine.art doesn’t post any of his own stuff? Here you go, by popular demand, a peek into one of my Moleskines.
One hot summer day, this zebra rolled in the dust on a tiny grassless patch, 10 feet away from me. He enjoyed it so much, it was tempting to join him and roll in the dust like there’s no tomorrow.
Prismacolor 0.01, 0.03, and 0.5 on a pocket orange Van Gogh Museum Moleskine.

The UK government (mainly Conservative) has announced that it wishes to introduce a minimum price per unit of alcohol in order to stop binge drinking by some members of society. Fair enough but the same political party, in the devolved Scottish government, proposed the same thing and was defeated the first time, mainly due to the efforts of the Scottish Conservatives who seem to vote against anything the incumbent SNP propose. Now, guess what? They have changed their minds after the London announcement. Such is the heated nature of politics at the present time in our country. It would appear that politicians would vote black was white if it suited them. I wonder what will be the next proposal. My wee mouse is getting very worried. What if the government proposed a minimum price for cheese?
This is my entry for this month’s Challenge. Better late than never. It would be great if more folks could post an effort to support the work Steph is doing

Come on! Have a go!
On the other side of the looking glass
My submission for the February 2012 theme challenge (should post by the end of the month if all goes according to plan).
On The Other Side of the Looking glass – Watercolour on Bristol Board
No one told Spaghetti-Man about the dangers of entering the Looking Glass. As soon as he did so there was a huge explosion and everything vanished. No one knows exactly what happened but scientists surmise that he came into contact with some Antipasto on the other side.
What a challenge for this month. I found it hard so reverted to childishness to do this. Always a good “get out”.
