One more in the primaries series.
latest updates: sunglasses
Did these guys in my new watercolor moleskine. On the suggestion of my brother, I decided to paint them in only the three primaries. Came out way better then I hoped it would, think I want to do a whole series of these. Let me know what you think!
Earlier That Morning on the 5 Train (Thursday, 7-15-10)
Serious Shadiness in Powder Blue and Pink (Thursday, 5-6-10)
On the 3 to Chambers street. 4-30-10.
Riding the 3 to Chambers Street from Grand Army Plaza on a Friday mornin’. Focus was much on Beardy with the black cap that the woman in foreground becomes camouflaged, appears almost taking form of the body, reminding me of Shel Silverstein in her whimsied napping contrasting his intense, albeit a bit ironic, appearance.
The all around look reminded me of the dystopian hoods from many 80s movies/comic books, like the watchmen or the guys who invaded Wyatt’s house at the end of Weird Science. A slightly culturally removed vision of an apocalyptic future. I think the lip pierce with bare ears was interesting in its minimalism.
Halfway between Bitchin’ and Fabulous. 3 Train, 4-28-09.
Green, white and brown headband – jacket with a little too much of an illustrative pattern all over.
Man with black Yamulkah playing with mobile device over yellow wash.
