I saw this boy on the Subway, on the platform, dancing to his own music. Dark silhouette against the urban landscape. It brought light and wonder into dusk of my own mood. Ink.

I used Diamine ink, touch of watercolor from my faithful Bijou box and a bit of Kuretake watercolor pens.

The way his boots were turned inwards, his interlocked fingers, all his slouchy, a bit cartoony figure – all was the essence of tiredness and exhaustion. Brought to mind Van Gogh’s workers, I felt bad for him and wished him well and better life.
