Earth, Wind, and Autumn Sky
A new moleskine pocket notebook, a new back pocket to decorate and work forward from, and the autumn has been in my thoughts a lot lately (it’s my favorite time of year; I would dwell here forever if I could).
Cloudy Sky – Watercolour on scrap paper
Whenever I cannot find subjects to paint I follow the old adage, “Paint a sky a day”. This statement is attributed to Alfred East although Turner did this and John Constable, who was THE master of skies, certainly must have practised this.
This is one of 15 small skies I did this rainy afternoon. I’m trying to paint with a selection of water-brushes and am just about getting the feel of the different sizes. It helps to have great music to fill the room – everything from Louis Armstrong and Bing Crosby to Battlefield Band. Life is good!
Tallulah
A painting for a friend of mine who is a bit of a diva. Tallulah is her alter-ego.
Feel a bit cheeky doing this but…
I have just launched an Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/amystace to sell some prints and drawings. Please would you take a look? I would love to get some feedback and/or ideas from fellow creative folk.
Eye in the Sky
An abstract page inspired by the patterns and shapes formed by roadways and rivers viewed from an airplane window.
Eye in the Sky
I had some paint left over after my first attempt, and I hate to waste anything, so I painted another piece of cardboard in turquoise and built some patterns on it in purple.
