Bathtub corner
Trying to get my drawing loosen up more… I’m used to working stiffly.
Sketching at one of the local casino’s Race and Sportsbook, yep.. The place where you can bet on teams to win money.. I never done it before and I not familiar with the betting structure…
The game that was on tv, which I wasn’t really paying much attention to (I was too busy on sketching) the game. The game was Colorado Avalanche vs. Edmonton Oilers.. And the Oilers won at the end..
This done with ballpoint pen, watercolours pencil, and water brush..
Just breaking into my new Moleskine Watercolour sketchbook.
This is quite a hidden gem in Las Vegas area, I was surprise to see a man-made lake in the middle of the desert. You can see quite a lot of greenery, birds, ducks, and geese in the area.. Once I sat down on the grass, all the ducks and birds were walking up to me…Thinking I have something to eat which I do not have anything.. Poor guys, I should’ve brought something to feed.. I am such an animal lover and I feel really bad for them.. They were even quacking at me for food, which is cute!
The April 2010 Challenge: Wish you were here
Well, I highly wouldn’t encourage you to be here.. But, I don’t have much choice for this kind of theme..
Vegas Style- At least this is an opportunity to do some sketching on people playing the slots.. I’m sure you don’t get this very often unless if you visit the few major gambling hubs like Biloxi/Gulfport, Mississippi; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Reno, Nevada; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Las Vegas, Nevada…
Other than that… It is very lifeless living here when you are a local.. There is no culture, no art inspirations, no museums. Its a big brown desert wasteland with dull-looking mountains and just right in the middle of nowhere, while the better cities (Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and San Francisco) nearby are 5-8 hours drive. Oh, it just depressing while there are no greens and lovely trees you could try sketching/painting…
Alright, I’ll stop rambling on… lol I’m sure you will get the point..
Obama Rama- Sound like a fun name for an arcade game or penny slot machines?
Hmm.. I think I should stop trying to paint on a regular Moleskine Sketchbook. It not really getting along with my wet gouache/watercolours very well.. Blech..
I was bored at school.. It was a slow day in class so I decided to sketch and paint out my tool of trade and random things around the classroom.. A tree from outside look like it was peeling, a mac keyboard, a student working on his Flash assignment, and one of my japanese classmate tweaking his work.. Oh and a panorama photo on a wall..
A sketch of the Spring Preserve Park with Las Vegas skyline behind. I was sitting in the balcony of the Wolfgang Puck’s Cafe eating my lunch before checking out the park.. Great food with great view!
I’m sure you can figure out the story behind this work.. =)
I thought it would be interesting for a mythology creatures on each head of a Cerberus.
From left to right: Head of a Gryffin, main head of a Cerberus, and head of a Hydra. All done in fountain pen ink..
Also, thank a lot for Fluffy for eating my page corner…
I thought why not post the backside of the Funky sketch since it look pretty cool when it bleed through?
On the right: Blind Contour drawing of my chair and desk lamp, my travelling pencil case, and my weapon of choice: Pure Squirrel Brush.
All done in 03mm fine line pen
