sketching up at Sausenburg castle ruins in the southern Black Forest 5/30/2012
latest updates: Sausenburg
This is the view out my window while sitting at my desk. This is the last year I will enjoy this view, as our school is moving locations. Atop the hill there in the distance is Sausenburg castle ruins, built in 1246 and destroyed in 1678 during the Franco-Dutch War. It’s a 35-40 minute uphill walk from this point, which I used to do every day after teaching for exercise. (I need to do it again!) The trees are in full bloom now, and colors are returning to the hills.
