Atop the hill there in the distance is Sausenburg castle ruins, built in 1246 and destroyed in 1678 during the Franco-Dutch War. It’s a 35-40 minute uphill walk from this point, which I used to do every day after teaching for exercise. (I need to do it again!) The trees are in full bloom now, and colors are returning to the hills.
