Backyard view from my window.
Sarajevo. Watercolour in A4.

Painted by W&N artists’ aquarelle paints and da Vinci Artissimo + 2 Voyage brushes (as seen above) in my new microscopic (pocket watercolour) Moley. I expected it to have perforations as advertised but I suppose “they” dropped that option meanwhile.

Rene, that’s another one for your friend. What you see is about 500 years old Latin Bridge – the place where, by assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the World War I started 95.5 years ago.

Derwent Inktense+Aquatone+Watercolour on Derwent A5. No way it would work without final touch by Talens/Rembrandt.
It is done on a Moly-like Derwent book which I got as a gift from the factory when complaining about fineness of their watercolour range…

2009Oct 31tags: autumn | fall | necropolis | Sarajevo | stećci | trees | watercolourAutumn near Sarajevo with Bogumil necropolis from 13-14th century.
Bogumils were “heretic” pre-Ottoman-era Christians of Bosnia, also found in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, and even southern France, but they were nowhere else as presistent as in Bosnia. Somehow they were resisting western Chatolic and eastern Ortodox influences and pressures by sustaining their beliefs – until, with Ottoman rule they dissapeared – according to some theories by massive conversion to Islam (?!). You can see their massive tombstones called “stećci” that were brought from far-away to usually very beautiful remote sites. This shows the same necropolis viewed from south-east (up) and north-west (down).
