The next page in my 2013 Sketchbook Project book. I happened to be out on a walk along the river when a sudden thunderstorm caught me by surprise and left me quite cold and soaked by the time I made it back to my car.

Winter Blues – Watercolour on grey paper
An experiment using coloured paper. Seems to have worked. I wanted to show how dull and flat the local woods can seem when snow and bright conditions disappear. Unfortunately this is the sort of weather we are mostly getting – apart from the gales. Now, how to draw wind!

Rain – again! – Ink
This was done a few days ago as I sat indoors on midsummer’s day. We have had an awful amount of rain recently. Evidently its due to the position of the jet stream pushing weather patterns further south. I know better. Its due to the government trying to make us save money by forcing us to stay indoors on wet days. Doesn’t work. We just NEED to get out, to the shopping malls, for some retail therapy.
