Just a page that grew out of a sheet of holiday stamps when it was finished.
One Human’s Trash is Another Human’s…Collage Art Supplies
I absolutely love looking at the postage choices people make when they send personal mail and I especially love postage from other parts of the world. When I get something with interesting postage, I put it into this work-in-progress collage. I like to look at the way the different stamps set each other off and remind me of specific things (a birthday card, a letter from a friend, a wedding invitation, a little note from family, etc.). So, this is my contribution to this month’s theme challenge.
Work In Progress
I’m not sure if this one is done or not; I go back and forth on it. It started as a collection of interesting stamps and labels. I had no idea there were so many variations of camel cigarettes…I’ve seen at least five distinct packages over the last few weeks and the variety intrigues me.
Power of the Post
A collage from the postage that arrived on several pieces of mail within a few days of each other (somehow both of the cats are in the veterinarian’s automated reminder system multiple times).
As I was filling in the page around the stamps it got me thinking about how reliable the U.S. postage system is and how powerful that quick, easy communication is.
Clementines, Apples, and Tea
A collage that’s grown over several weeks due to some of the habits I’ve been keeping lately. The stamp was on a holiday card I received from a friend in England and was actually the beginning of the whole thing.
