One of my favorite offerings from the Forks of Cheat winery here in West Virginia.
A House in the Mid-West – Ink
I now have the three books, the latest being “Rendering in Pen and Ink” by Arthur L Guptill. He suggests a huge variety of techniques and this is me trying two of them, namely using cross-hatching for darker areas and different line thickness to add variety. This is actually my fourth attempt at this scene which is from an old photograph. I’m not finding using pens easy at all – and there are many more ideas to try.
First Breath of Summer
Although it is quite early in the season for warm weather (compared to most of the years of my life before the last few), there are lots of hot days and a good deal of warm sunshine to be had here in Morgantown.
Light Green Ink
This was ridiculously difficult trying to get to show up from my scanner…I won’t be using much light green ink in the future, I guess.
Shades of Blue
One of several pages from the end of February/beginning of March playing around with patterns and variations in color. This page is made of patterns in three shades of blue.
