Frosty Morning – Watercolour and Pastel
Combining watercolour with my new found pastels. This was done a couple of weeks ago as I tried to get to grips with my new stuff. The mornings are a bit warmer these days although experience reminds me that there is still time cooler weather. We even had snow in May a couple of years ago and it regularly snows up in the Scottish mountains all year round.
Snow Storm Approaching – Pastel and Ink
Another experiment in my “sketching quest”. This time I used some hard, coloured pastels for the background and dark coloured ones for the trees which were applied with a damp brush. The threatening sky was over-washed with ink “drizzled” into a wet surface and allowed to do its own thing.
Foggy Foreshore – Pastels and Charcoal
The scene is the north shore of Edinburgh near Cramond. Having decided to explore different media, I went for a trip to collect different rocks and pieces of sea coal to mark the paper. It was only partially successful and I ended up using commercially produced stuff.
Brick Lane, book illustration, pastels. This is part of a project I did a while ago, read the book Brick Lane and had to choose 2 scenarios to illustrate. This is the midnight snack. Check out more on my blog: http://www.ingridsink.blogspot.com

Untitled II – oil pastels on a large SB.
It’s amazing how oil pastels change the appearance depending on light condition.
Sometimes you have to type it out and let it sink in. Don’t worry. Everything is going to be okay. Pencil and Gouache.
