Old Light, North Queensferry – Ink
This old beacon was erected in 1817 having been designed by Robert Stevenson. For many years it provided a safe passage, through the narrows in the Firth of Forth, as it shone from the North Pier but it fell into disrepair. It has recently been renovated (2010). My sketch shows the structure as it is now with the north side of the Forth Railway Bridge behind.
Another pen and ink exercise this time getting to grips with rendering stone and brick. Must think about adding washes of colour to these sketches.
