Rough Wood Fence
At the back of the lodge where we spent the weekend is a huge stone porch stretching the entire length of the building. The timbers of the rails are all rough wood from local trees and there are several benches inviting one to sit and sketch.
My husband and I hosted a joint birthday celebration at an old stone lodge in a nearby state park. It was wonderful to just ‘get away’ for a few days, be disconnected from e-mail and phones and enjoy the company of friends around bonfires. The entire place is built of locally-quarried stone and the covered eating/grill/fire pit area in the front of the building featured this gigantic bell that I couldn’t resist sketching one evening.
Just a doodle I did in my pocket sketchbook to mark my birthday last week; it’s my last n^n birthday for quite some time.
The Night Comes Up on Butterfly Wings
Just another page in the ‘sleepless’ molie, playing around with patterns and micron pens.
Some Mornings Come Earlier than Others
I woke up before the alarm this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I worked on a page in the ‘sleepless’ molie.
