A good friend brought me this luscious poinsettia plant the other day, so I used it as a model for my Christmas card this year. I did each one by hand, so they are all just a little different. It kept me busy, but was a lot of fun, and by now I think I know this plant by heart. Done with Dick Blick markers which are bright and quick, perfect for greeting cards. No pencil lines were used but just went right in there with the markers.

That’s more or less the static in my brain… when I start doodling something usually 1 or 2 of these will appear. I made this one in a bullet train journey and it has a few mistakes due to the movement of it.

Sunrise… or sunset? A simple collage with markers and pen.
Done with markers as an experiment. Since the colors of my markers are very garish I was trying to get skin tones. Anyhow, that’s me—a used-to-be blonde who is now mostly gray and loving it, but I left out some of my wrinkles which is artistic license, right?

Very quick sketch with markers. I just loved this old rotting stump with all sorts of new growth on it. Life will “live” no matter how difficult, it seems.
