The Gherkin – Watercolour washes on pencil
I thought I should get in some practice drawing skyscrapers and other tall buildings before our trip.
This is the “Gherkin” the nickname given to the building which replaced the Baltic Exchange which was damaged, by a bomb blast, in 1992. This building was designed by Lord Foster and was opened in 2004. It is the second highest building in London.
I shall attempt other tall structures in the coming weeks and these should be a bit easier to reproduce than this one. I had to resort to the use of French Curves to get the helices correct (almost).

The last pages of my moleskine, I had a bunch of used stamps and I wanted to make it as a bit of a collage as a keepsake.
Better than throwing it away or store it somewhere where you will forget about it!
London, streetmarket in Portobello road. You’ll find anything here, from cheap clothes to chinese bling-bling.
London, just off Oxford street, after long walks and shopping, we found this nice, cool park; Soho square. Drawing made while relaxing on the grass. You wouldn’t expect this kind of Dickens stuff in the centre of Londen…
