Lake Pukaki, New Zealand – Gouache in a Watercolour Moleskine

This is from a photograph sent from New Zealand where my youngest son now lives. He has sent many such scenes and I thought that I would try one using the techniques that the late Bob Ross used ie rendering the mountains with a palette knife. This, as it turned out, is not as easy as it looks but I think this is a fair attempt for a first go. I wonder if the locals, near Canterbury would recognise the place?
