Simple life. I used Kuretake pens, all 3 kinds I have and ink with H20 brushes. Used 3 inks and 3 languages. It didn’t fit in the scanner so its a bit cropped, especially on the top, I left a lot of air above books, but if I try the other way, photomerge, I loose color intensity.

2011Mar 8tags: house | ink | Ira | Kuretake | sketch | snowHouse. Still too much snow. Parked across on neighbor’s property, thankfully he was not there. He is a nice guy, writer. Drew with Kuretake pens and outline with Rotring Art pen. Sketch of pen bled through from previous page, thin paper.

2011Mar 7tags: Kuretake | pencil | sketchBrushables – really sweet dual point Kuretake pen brush. Drew it with Kuretake pens over pencil sketches with Palomino pencil.

2011Mar 5tags: brooklyn | ink | Ira | Kuretake | Landscape | sepiaI drew it on aged piece of watercolor paper, cut it with my mother’s ivory knife. I used sepia ink and green Kuretake H20, and for touches of red Twin Kuretake brush pen. I wanted to show sort of nostalgic feeling, when you appreciate every shadow, every crumb of dirty snow and present always turn into past.

2011Mar 3tags: Autopoint pencil | Ira | Kuretake | palomino | sketchSketched with Palomino pencil and drew over old Autopoint pencil with box of Fineline Thin leads using Kuretake Twin pens. What I like about this antique pencil that is so heavy and massive and the lead is so delicate like thin voice in a big body. On the side it said “for Real Thin lead”. Along the body of the pencil is a long sign “The Fourth Nat’l Bank-Wichita, Kansas”.

2011Feb 27tags: brooklyn | ink | Kuretake | Post Office | sketchPost office on Mermaid Ave. I used Kuretake pens, water brush, ink and some outlining with fountain pen in Moleskine. Such pretty name, Mermaid Ave, such not nice neighborhood. Murals on walls depicting scenes of Coney Island, Luna Park, clowns, Ferris wheel, I could not fit it all here.

2011Feb 24tags: Kuretake | sketch | water brush
Underneath drew with watercolor pencil, Durer, on the top – Kuretake water brush. I like that is green. Pentel, Pilot and Koi water brushes transparent or bluish, Kuretake makes it in happy colors. I was a bit jealous to people from England, who can get em in colors, now got mine from London.
I drew it with Zig Clean Color brushes by Kuretake, it washes like watercolor and tip is very delicate. -
2011Feb 22tags: brooklyn | ink | Ira | Kuretake | old carI was looking at this car for a long time passing by from Borough Park in Brooklyn. It was parked on few different places, on driveway or street. Looks like it is Plymouth Belvedere 1955 or may be 1957, but 1957 doesn’t have words Belvedere on a side, but sort of check mark. Color is metallic blue towards periwinkle. I didn’t want to add color, used ink only and Kuretake brush in Moleskine A4.

2011Feb 21tags: ink | Ira | Kuretake | pencil | sketchOn the top of the sketches from the doc’s office, done with watercolor Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer pencil, I drew my antique “Salz” pencil, dated April 14, 1925. Thin paper struggles to accept ink from Kuretake brush pens I used.

2011Feb 17tags: cars | ink | Ira | Kuretake | manhattan | morningBy outlining ink drawing with sepia Letter pen Cocoiro I wanted to show energy of morning city, full of life, cars, noise, moving wheels. I couldn’t resist adding hieroglyphs (from translator). I used Kuretake brush pens for color and mixed ink in Fabriano pad.
