And, I like Italian foods, Chinese foods, Western dishes and Fusion cuisines. Today, I ate the wheat noodle with tempura. The wheat noodle is “UDON ” in Japanese. This was very good. On weekday, I usually take a lunch near my office. On holiday, sometime I have brunch on my house. These illustration is my holiday lunch menu.

I stopped momentarily to catch my breath and do this quick sketch of a charming little six sided temple. This is a mini pilgrimage for those who cannot do the real one on Shikoku. It is called Hachiju Hakkasho and is a lovely hike off the beaten tourist path.watercolor and oil pen

2010Dec 9tags: buddhist priests | cemetery | japan | jizo | Kyoto | Linda BachrachI have always been fascinated by these stone images in Japan. The peaceful faces, the red bibs and the wool hats are so charming. This group sits in the cemetery of a small temple behind the Kyoto Okura Hotel. I visit them twice a year.

2010Jul 3tags: japan | Kyoto | Linda Bachrach | Sagano Preservation DistrictA little map I made of an exquisitely beautiful walk I took in the Sagano district of Arashiyama, Kyoto. It is a preservation district and a little off the beaten tourist path, but well worth the time and effort. I want to do this walk again in the fall season.
