Harvest Time II
Following close on my first page for this month’s theme challenge, this one popped up. The scythe and the stalk of wheat are some of my favorite pieces of iconography associated with harvest time and they show up here together, along with a waning crescent moon.

Harvest Time
This is the first page that popped up as I was thinking about this month’s theme challenge. It’s actually quite fortuitous timing, since 1 August is the first Celtic harvest holiday of Lughnasadh (there are three all together; Lughnasadh on 1 August, Mabon at the Equinox and Samhain on 31 October). Even though summer’s warmth is still quite strong, the first fruits are ready to be harvested. Autumn is my absolute favorite season, so every year when Lughnasadh rolls around and the cooler days are right around the corner, I start to get excited for the season just ahead.
