My travel in the south west of France
latest updates: france
A laundromat in Tarbes (France); it was near midnight and the cold blue light from the shop made a nice contrast with the orange natrium streetlights. I tried to capture that light in this drawing.
I found this airplane stuck between a parking lot and a military academy, in the center of Tarbes, France. Would it get a parking ticket, like the rest of us? http://www.renefijten.blogspot.com/
Wonderful mid-March (not mad-March) weather here in France and the fruit trees are bursting into blossom… this was in a Mole’ lined notebook with Cerulean Blue Rembrandt pastel sky, fixed, then black ink with nib pen and water-colour dotted petals in whites and pinks with a 00 brush… in all, 30 minutes of relaxation!
Le Pic du Midi (2877m), south of France. This is the view from my working desk on the building site in Lannemezan. It’s a pity, after a while you don’t notice the view anymore.
Drawn yesterday, 9.10am.
Merlin’s Tomb at Broceliande forest, the celtic France.
Yes, it is a real place. A magical place.
Merlin is sleeping under the stone and the thorn, and you can know it’s true when you visit the place…
La viande de cheval. Sketched in a foodmarket in Tarbes, south of France.
My hotel in Tarbes again. If you don’t have time to go out and sketch, you can always stay in your room and draw the fully glassed bathroom. http://renefijten.blogspot.com/
