2012Sep 8tags: Food | ink | Ira | KuretakeTuna melt. It is more like a journal page, I didn’t mean to write my thoughts, especially on 2 languages, but no matter how much I try – I can’t avoid emotions, because color, smell, taste, shape, joy of being with someone you love, happiness of being able to do and feel – triggers emotions and urges me to draw.
I used ink and Kuretake pens and one Durer pencil on amazing Saunders Waterford Watercolor Paper. This paper made me breathless. -
2012Sep 4tags: brooklyn | Food | ink | Ira | KuretakeOne of the hopeful mornings, one of the happy breakfasts, delicious sandwich with smoked salmon and eggs halfway scrambled, halfway omelet, sunny conversation, brief hug and happy painting. One of the days to remember. Ink and Kuretake on Winsor & Newton.

2012Jun 3tags: Food | ink | Ira | juice | KuretakeTangerine juice. Homey kitchen scene. It said “Tangerine juice” in Japanese. This cute juicer I bought few years ago on flea market at Coney Island, some vintage piece.
I used Pear ink and new sample of Noodler’s, color made with few Kuretake pens. -

2012Mar 1tags: Food | gotamago | lichia | taipei | watercolorAny doubts I had about being back in Taiwan was erased when I bit into my first black-pepper bun for the first time in my life, sometime last year. (I’ve probably eaten it as a kid, too, but I won’t pretend that that counts at all.) It was love at first sight with this golden-crisp, savory with a hint of spice, juice-splattering, crunchy-on-the-outside chewy-on-the-inside ball of goodness. No wonder my mother used to line up for half an hour to buy them fresh out of the clay oven.
