Smile, February 2010, Theme Challenge
My cat Fellini. He makes me smile all the time.Whenever I am home he demands my full attention. He is screaming sadly and weak behind the door of my work room, so I have let him in and he is happily worming up his butt on Time Machine or walking in front of the computer. He runs in front of me with his head backwards, looking if I am strictly following him, so I have to protect him from bumping into walls. He likes to walk with his eyes closed in the morning. And he is outcast among other, normal cats. I used Shin-Gansai in watercolor Moleskine.

2010Feb 12tags: barcelona | February 2010 | frog | monster | pencil | smile | Theme ChallengeI don’t need to travel very far away when I want to feel as in another world. I’m living just 30 minutes by train from Barcelona, and I’m in love with this beautiful and magical town. My Barcelona is full of secrets and mysteries, with lots of hidden places. Sometimes, I like to travel to Barcelona and look everything as if I was there for the first time. You can find something different every time you go there, and look around with new eyes. These two drawings were made at the cathedral’s cloister. There are stone frogs there, giving water to little sparrows, and some smiling monsters too (they are not as fierce as they look…)
I hope this drawing fits for the month challenge! I think my monsters have a beautiful smile…Y ahora, en español (te he copiado la idea, Nuria)

My entry for February’s Challenge. Its hard, for me, to draw, without reference sketches, these people all looking upwards. I should have remembered the game we played as children. You stand, in the street, staring upwards into the sky. It is guaranteed that most passers by will follow your gaze to see what you are looking at. I wonder if this theory will work for other situations? I’m going to try standing with a large pair of binoculars staring into the far distance and ask a friend to observe folks’ reactions. If you don’t hear from me soon it means I’ve been arrested.
