“Story Farm” such a wonderful place, I love going there may be because they have delicious vegetables grown organically or may be because we see happy cows, milk cows, or because of strawberry fields where once we picked our own strawberries in hot june few years back. We always park under that tall trees. I used ink here.
The late farmer – Watercolour
No sooner than the corn was cut the farmer, at the top of our road, started to plough the field. Nothing unusual here but this guy still uses an old “Davy Brown” while most others seem to share the cost of hiring one of these huge, modern machines. My local farmer then. Takes ages to get his ploughing completed but this probably saves him cash in the long run. It also maybe explains why he was still at it around midnight.
Coxydene Farm, West Lothian – Watercolour
A 15 minute “speed painting” to record a scene observed from yesterday’s bike trip. Its a bit faint but I haven’t got the scanner properly set up yet. Just wanted to see how fast I could record this
This is from an old photo, probably from the twenty’s. The guy looks like a farm worker. Reminded me of John Stienbecks novels. Brush pen.
