The Enchanted Forest – Ink/Acrylic Metallic paint in a Watercolour Moleskine

[The original of this seems to have been lost so I've reincarnated it. Thanks to all who voted and commented before. (Talking about reincarnation - read Wallace McRae's funny poem by scrolling down through this link): ]

This is The Enchanted Forest situated in Faskally Wood, near Pitlochry, Perthshire. It is billed as Scotland’s largest outdoor sound and light show.

The trees are lit with coloured beams allowing them to take on unusual colours. Its quite spectacular and must be wondrous to the eyes of children. This show is a far cry from my young days, growing up in Kirkcaldy where, every year, the “Illuminations” took place in the town’s Beveridge Park. This consisted of lights, like those on Christmas trees, strung through the branches or lights inside large clear plastic animals such as squirrels being switched on and off to simulate their antics. Things have improved a lot since those days, in the 1950′s. There are other “Enchanted Forest type shows around the UK and, I suspect around the world. Somehow they seem to beckon the start of the winter season.
