2010Oct 12tags: brooklyn | gyro | Ira | red | SaharaBest gyro in Brooklyn in turkish restaurant Sahara. But lentil soup I make better. I relay on recipe from Nigella Lawson, british food writer, she wrote for NY Times as a gourmet critic, from her amazing book “How to eat”. Seems I can’t get enough of my antique pencil, add red with Pentel marker.

2010Oct 11tags: antique pencil | bits of red | brooklyn | Ira | sketchAnother corner of Brooklyn, didn’t even notice the name of the street. Used my antique pencil again, I really like that it is so stiff and angular, you have to convince it and prize like a cat, till it agreed to listen to you. Add few touches of red from my vintage watercolor and white for the sky.

2010Oct 8tags: antique pencil | brooklyn | Ira | sketchBrooklyn street scene and my list in pencil, antique pencil from 1900-1920, called propelled, as Bob told me. Interesting, that one of the leads crumbles right away, so old, the other is pretty hard and draws angular. I liked it. I ordered more leads.

2010Sep 22tags: brighton | brooklyn | ink | Q | sketchBrighton Beach. Sometimes I go here for food shopping, coffee and nuts in Turkish store, meat in meat market, Japanese food in Uni, fruits in Korean fruit stores. I don’t like shopping, only for art materials. I used 2 inks in Moleskine sketch, paper doesn’t take it easy, it looks a little fuzzy, but still fun.
