Update of my progress on the beetle composition that I have posted elements of. It is nearing completion but still lacks a few more beetles and other details. The red longhorn beetle (Rosalia formosa) lacks the right antenna. I have temporarily omitted it until the remaining beetles are in place.

Associated with low to mid-level tropical rain forests.
Adults feed on sap, flowers, ripening fruit.

Rosalia alpina (Linnaeus, 1758)
Distribution: Europe; extirpated in some parts, listed as endangered or protected in others.

This is the first painting of a planned wc compostion of several beetles arranged in a geometric pattern.
