Uncharted Stars
I’m taking part in the Sketchbook Project World Tour 2012 and this is my first work in my sketchbook (inside the back cover, as working back-to-front is a habit I picked up a while ago). My theme this year is ‘Uncharted Waters.’ This is done with dark blue acrylic paint and silver sharpie marker.
Drawing based on the poem “O chão é cama”, by Carlos Drummond de Andrade. It’s very beautiful!

Eye in the Sky
I had some paint left over after my first attempt, and I hate to waste anything, so I painted another piece of cardboard in turquoise and built some patterns on it in purple.
Vision
After a comment Nikira made a while ago, I was inspired to try translating some of my moleskine ideas into larger compositions. This is my first try at building something with acrylic on cardboard.
Spring Trees – Watercolour with some acrylic
I finally got my bike out a couple of days ago. I cycled around the local roads and ended up on the path next to the headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland at Gogarburn. It is possible to see these magnificent trees from the busy A8 road which is just out of shot to the right of this scene. Normally, when driving, stopping is not an option as this is one of the main arterial routes into Edinburgh connecting the west and airport to the city. Cycling, however, gives an opportunity to stop and sketch which I did. This is the result from my preliminary sketch. The painting took some time which is just as well since the “cycling legs” will need time to recover before the next excursion.
Abstract in Acrylic
I got out my acrylic paints a few days ago and decided to play around with them. This page grew out of that experiment.
