First piece in my new book and i chose to do a sketch of one of my favourite artists Tara McPherson.
I’ve not worked in this way for awhile and i’ve missed it a lot so trying to get back into it and develop the method of working further. -

I did this in one of the larger journals that aren’t really meant to be used for things like watercolours or inks (as you can see from the rippling of the page). This sits right between my notes on Colour Management Systems and RA-4 printing.

The letter “S” in my Alphabet Sketchbook Series. The shape on the left is from a cutout that was borrowed from the previous letter “R”. This shape exposes a pink background created with Aquarelles water pastels topped with silver spirals. The blue background was created by applying tissue paper to acrylic paint. Once dry, black and silver were used to add dimension and a silver “S” was painted.

The letter “J” from the Alphabet Series in my Moleskine Sketchbook. Acrylic paint was applied with a roller for the background, which gave the pages a texture similar to a find stucco. White pen was used for the white areas.
