The target of all my thoughts goes directly to the Nature destruction in my Country. Insects are dizimated each year because of the Burning Season. Must of foreigners’ people think that it happens only inside the Amazon Forest. A big mistake! Even in the SouthEast, where I live, every year is burning.
I make my paintings to show my tears and though out the animals’ eyes to stop it NOW!

My main interest in drawing is to get at the electricity that dances under the skin, to some how discern what lies behind the facade of the face. For further comments on this please refer to my blog http://floradraw.blogspot.com/

2009Oct 31tags: Bijou | pocket W&N brushes | water colorThis small chinese bakery on Ave.U is one of my favorite places to get chinese sweets, like SeeUBee( this how it sounds in Chinese, I was told), round flat things made from raw rice flower and filled with black beens. You can get it only early in the morning, so when Inna was in school I use to go there more often after dropping her at 7 a.m. But today I was lucky to catch it early. Its always crowded and swarming with never ending construction and construction people. Also It is my first page in water color Molly, feels too small, even it says large.

2009Oct 31tags: autumn | fall | necropolis | Sarajevo | stećci | trees | watercolourAutumn near Sarajevo with Bogumil necropolis from 13-14th century.
Bogumils were “heretic” pre-Ottoman-era Christians of Bosnia, also found in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, and even southern France, but they were nowhere else as presistent as in Bosnia. Somehow they were resisting western Chatolic and eastern Ortodox influences and pressures by sustaining their beliefs – until, with Ottoman rule they dissapeared – according to some theories by massive conversion to Islam (?!). You can see their massive tombstones called “stećci” that were brought from far-away to usually very beautiful remote sites. This shows the same necropolis viewed from south-east (up) and north-west (down). -
