this was just a stream of consciousness sketch (otherwise known as a doodle). Just letting my pen lead the way. This idea may be cleaned up later to be made into a screen print, we’ll see.

2008Oct 31This is the view looking out the back of a helo in flight. The guy in the middle is hanging off the ramp with his feet dangling. I drew this the day after the mission so it was a little rough.

Watercolour/ink on a watercolour Moleskine.Gigha (pronounced “Gee-ah”) is sometimes known as “God’s Island. It lies off the west coast of Scotland’s Kintyre peninsula and is only about 4 miles long. This drawing is from a photograph I took when staying on the island in 2003, a year after the local community managed to buy the island to safeguard its future. I remember the visit coincided with incredibly hot, record breaking temperatures and I spent three days, painting next to a small beach with a wet towel around my neck. Happy days!

2008Oct 30tags: germany | guesthouse | sitzenkirch | wild boarSitzenkirch. Parent – teacher conferences today, so I had a break and did a sketch of Guesthouse Engel just down the road, then added color when I got home. A great place to eat wild boar if you’re so inclined.
