November Theme Challenge! The contents of a trashcan
Some quick sketches of cyclists and a delivery man in Tokyo. Everyone smokes in Tokyo and it is kind of cool to see these people cycling around with a cigarette in their mouth and a beer in hand – or bike with the built in beer can holder. These were done with a ball point pen.
This is a really cool bookshop in Melbourne called Polyester Books. I did a quick pencil of it when I was there and I watercoloured penciled and gouaced it later on.
The picture in the corner is a shrunken down scan of a pencil portrait of my great grandmother – I did for my Mum for xmas. I glued it into my moleskin and did a pen motif representing xmas around it. The rabbit amidst the sketch is not a misleading easter symbol; it represents a gift I bought my brother, an orginal cel from ‘Watership Down’ – one of his favourtie films.
With the end of the Bush era, the Weekender magazine (a newspaper supplement) published their Top 10 Bush quotes. I decided to glue it into my moleskin and do a quick portrait of the man with pencil and coloured pencil.
