New Bedford, Massachusetts. In the mid 1800′s this was the epicenter of the whaling industry. The sailing ship Pequod set sail from New Bedford, starting its adventure with the great white leviathan, Moby Dick.

Concord, Massachusetts. The Old Manse House is an historic home next to the site of the first battle of the Revolutionary War. A hundred years later, this home was a meeting place for writers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henry David Thoreau.

Downtown Drippin’ Springs, Texas.

Downtown Dripping Springs, Texas. Some of the old town charm remains intact. The suburbs of Austin are closing in fast with box stores and fast food restaurants. Sketched on location, with Photoshop color added later.

The tall, Dr. Seuss plant is a Spanish dagger. Also drawn is a century plant (agave), and an agarita bush. All of these plants have very sharp points that keep you from getting too close.

Low water crossing. When it rains, the creek overflows and the road is closed. We have lots of these in central Texas.
