I made these a few years ago during a trip in China. They wrote an article about the Urban Sketchers, featuring sketches of 10 artists, including me.
The world gets smaller all the time: imagine, a Dutch guy making sketches on the great wall of China, to be publicized in Brazil…

St. Bertrand de Comminges, south of France. This is how the town looks like, on top of a hill in the Pyrenees mountains. Drawn on location last week.
St. Bertrand de Comminges in the south of France, last week. Last Thursday evening, while driving from my business meetings to the airport of Toulouse, I decided to stay away from the motorway and take the winding roads along the Pyrenees mountains. Fantastic views. I came across this small scenic town located on top of a steep hill. I made a few sketches untill the twilight set in, and then continued to Toulouse.
