Each morning my hotel in France shows a Tell-sell television show at breakfast. Imagine Mr T (yes, the one from the A-team) looking at some mini oven and exclaiming: “regarde maman, je cuisine!”. Oh hero of my youth, how low can you sink.

2010May 6tags: Koninginnedag | UtrechtQueens day in Utrecht. As we were walking along the “grote gracht” suddenly before our eyes a giant tree collapsed into the canal. 2010May 2Queens day, Koninginnedag. In the Netherlands we celebrate our monarchy and queen Beatrix each April 30th, which was last friday. I went to Utrecht, where most of the city was a “freemarket”.
Everyone is allowed to sell stuff. There is food, drink, live bands, music, stalls which sell everything imaginable etc. And a lot of people dress on Orange, the colour representing the monarchy.
