Souvenirshops in Lourdes, France, last week.
I was on business in Tarbes, but visited the Maria grotto and the town in the evening. This is drawn just after the light procession.

Another businesstrip, to France this time. Drew this last Tuesday evening late in Tarbes, a house opposite the Cathedral. Used Lamy fountainpen and Pentel brushpen.
England, the Phoenix Inn pub in St. Helens. It was built in 1903, opposite the entrance of a huge plate glass factory, not a house in sight. Drawn on location last week.
Sitting on a terrace near the water and waiting for my lunch (superb grilled fish) I made this little sketch. In the back you see the Galata bridge, which spans the “Golden Horn” from the western side of Istanbul to the more eastern one.
Santral, an abandoned powestation in Istanbul. They are converting it into a museum of modern art. All machines, generators and boilers are still there (the power indicator tree of a few days ago was from the same complex). Drawn on location.
No, this is not a drawing of Mattias Adolfsson, but a real existing non-digital electrical power indicator tree; which I found in an abandoned powerplant called “santral” in Istanbul. http://www.renefijten.blogspot.com
Istanbul, we visited the Istanbul city hall, this is a sketch of the view from the roof terrace. Grey fountainpen ink and waterbrush&watercolour.
Istanbul, Aya Sophia. Drawn on location, fountainpen and watercolour.

Istanbul, Beshiktas fish market, this woman was peeling some unfamiliar vegetable; she didn’t even notice me sketching her from the other side of the narrow street. Fountainpen and watercolour. http://www.renefijten.blogspot.com
Istanbul Beshiktas fishmarket, last week. Drawn on location in a watercolour moly, with my Lamy fountainpen filled with waterproof grey ink, painted with waterbrush and watercolour. http://www.renefijten.blogspot.com
