India, Jaipur. The absolutely fabulous Amber fort. It’s a richly decorated fortified palace, located on top of a ridge, high above the city. You go up there sitting on the back of elephants. Drawn on location; more on http://www.renefijten.blogspot.com
India, view over Jaipur, 2 weeks ago.
As seen from the rooftop swimming pool of our hotel. Grey fountainpen ink.
Busride from New Delhi to Jaipur. Endless rows of Tata trucks, all lavishly decorated and piled up high with goods. A nice feature is that these trucks have a ventilation opening in between the front widows. No airco you see… I made the sketch during the ride in the bus, that’s why the lines are shaky.

India, the Jama Mashid Mosque in New Delhi.
Me and my family just returned from a two week visit to India. Some incredible country. We travelled with a group, so I could not always sketch what I wanted. I took the opportunity whenever I could, like here, when we were waiting to retrieve our shoes after visiting the Mosque. View towards the Red Fort.

Contribution to Moleskine exchange 58, the book of Sudjino from Moscow. Theme of her book was “Miracle Fish”, so I wrote this little Haiku (japanese style poem).
Water like mirrors.
Yellow, red miracle fish
Reflect shattered suns
Dead raven on the sidewalk, yesterday during lunch break. Pentel paintbrush and Noodlers grey fountain pen ink, I added the red watercolour at home.
These are a few of the gadgets the Dutch supermarkets gave away for the footbal championship.
In 20 years time, when Orange plays the final again, I hope to show this picture to my kids (or maybe our grandchildren) and have a good laugh about their collection fever.
