Again, guidelines from one page bled through to the next, so I got the opportunity to create something completely different starting from the same beginning.
This is just another abstract construction I did about a month ago and this is the first chance I’ve had to post it. This reminds me a bit of an amoeba.
The lines I used for a previous abstract construction bled through the page, so I used them again, in reverse, to make something new. The thick lines are done in sharpie while all the details are done with a black Pilot G2 pen.
Fractals (Zendala III)
The heavy marker I used on the preceding page bled through, so I used the same shapes on the new page to complete a new zendala. This one turned into a bit of an exercise in fractals and I really enjoyed contrasting the final result here with the one before.
Zendalla II (Eye of the Hurricane)
I had a little time this weekend just to relax and enjoy the warm weather, so I spent a little time in the sunlight letting my mind wander while I filled this in. Zendala is a made up word that combines the ideas of zentangles and a mandala.
Rose mentioned the zendala on a post of my a while ago (a combination of zentangles and a mandala) and I found the idea so fascinating that I tried it out in the back of my pocket notebook. It’s a great way to unwind at the end of a long day, just letting the lines and shapes guide the design and seeing what happens.
