Snowflake
Another geometric design based loosely on images of water crystals. I’m also posting a collage of the stages of this one because it changed so much from beginning to end and I find the process itself just as interesting as the final image.

Snapshot
Another collection of some recent habits of mine; kiwi fruit, tea, avocados, bananas, and a ticket stub that’s been kicking around in my pocket for a while.
Phoenix Feathers
Another abstract combination of shapes and colors with prismacolor colored pencils.
Crystallization
Bob sent me a link to images of snow crystals (http://www.hot.ee/her/lumi.html) the other day and I ended up trying to do something from memory that evening based on the six-sided symmetry of those crystals. Here are three steps of the picture from the rough lines and first ink, to the final colors.
The Magician
Just drawing some shapes/objects from an old tarot deck I have hanging around; all the cards in this particular deck are collages taken from Medieval paintings and illuminated manuscripts, really a great study for art appreciation.
Attempt at Boo
It’s a pretty good start, anyway; almost as soon as I started, she picked up and scurried away. I’ll finish it one of these days.
Explosion
Some more fun with my colored pencils, getting a feel for how to keep colors separate, blending edges, and generally just messing around.
Finicky Model
My first attempt at drawing one of the two cats that run the house. She was happy enough resting on my lap, but as soon as I started drawing her, she hopped up and scurried away, so this was all I got. I’m looking forward to future (hopefully longer) attempts.
