Solstice

A little late now, but this was inspired thinking about the solstice and that the days would start getting longer again.

Front Cover

A collage of antique maps; including polar charts, fanciful sea monsters, stylized ships, constellations, merfolk, a compass rose, and letters for the title. With this complete, my little sketchbook is ready to be on its way back to Brooklyn and the Sketchbook Project Tour next year.

Back Cover (Completed)

The back cover of my Uncharted Waters sketchbook. I did the silver patterns a while ago, but the bits of antique maps (reproductions, of course) added the final touch.

Uncharted Waters

The last page completed in my Uncharted Waters sketchbook. It’s been a great project for me (I wasn’t sure I’d be able to wrap the whole thing up in time, but I’ve made it) and I really like the way this page turned out. The collage itself is composed entirely of reproductions of old maps (a favorite subject of mine).
