What started as a simple (-ish) collage in the evening of a particularly rough day ended up too big to be contained in my sketchbook, so it became my first interactive/fold-out page. This is the folded-in form.

Birdhouse

Visiting with some old friends at a cabin in Northern Michigan, I found myself with a little time to just relax and draw what was around me. One of the subjects that presented itself was a birdhouse (in truth, a squirrel house) hung on a tall, thin pine tree near the window.

Radiance

A close friend is expecting with her second pregnancy. She waited until seventeen weeks to share the news because her first pregnancy ended in miscarriage last year. I did this sketch as a bit of a celebration for her from her seventeen-week picture (she’s been taking a picture each week to document the pregnancy as it goes along).
