Birdhouse
Visiting with some old friends at a cabin in Northern Michigan, I found myself with a little time to just relax and draw what was around me. One of the subjects that presented itself was a birdhouse (in truth, a squirrel house) hung on a tall, thin pine tree near the window.

After an unintended break from sketching due to life getting in the way, I’ve had a chance to pick up my pen and pocket molie and do a little playing around again.
Radiance
A close friend is expecting with her second pregnancy. She waited until seventeen weeks to share the news because her first pregnancy ended in miscarriage last year. I did this sketch as a bit of a celebration for her from her seventeen-week picture (she’s been taking a picture each week to document the pregnancy as it goes along).
