This was drawn in my travel journal as a response to hearing the humpback whales singing underwater during a trip to Maui. Pencil and watercolor pencil.
This was done on a flight (btw, the best way to make a flight go quickly is to draw in your sketchbook). I didn’t have anything in mind when I started. I just began with the dude and filled in the rest of the page. I then applied a couple of watercolor pencil washes over the top.
Pencil, watercolor pencil, large watercolor book.
Sea Kitten Sushi:
Just a little collection of random made up fish. I just started with the round one and filled in all the other fish. I had recently seen some discussion on Twitter about “sea kittens” and thought it would be an amusing title for the piece.
Pencil. Large watercolor book.
Random microbes. Just having some fun with ballpoint pen.
Brown Pitt pen.
“Out To Sea”
I was playing with patterns – some pencil, some colored pencil, a bit of pen and a dash of watercolor.
