2009Apr 29tags: house | Pitt pens | QuoylesI read Annie Proulx’s book ‘The Shipping news’ about 3 -4 years ago.I sat down the other night and just started drawing and this is what came out, my interpretation of Quoyles house.I later looked on the internet at the book cover the American version has a picture of the house being dragged across the ice the English version has a picture of the sea, my drawing has a passing resemblance to the one on the American cover, spooky!
Great book have very vague memories of a film that was no where near as good.My usual method of pencil and Pitt pens.
Check out the forums there is going to be a theme set for people to take part in during May and the more the merrier!!

2009Apr 25tags: pitt | skeleton | watercolour pencilsInspired by small part of a painting by John Mortimer [1740-1779].The original is called “Carrion crows hovering over a skeleton.” It struck me as a bizzare subject for the times! My rendition has a “Pirates of the Carribean ” or even a 1930s book illustration feel. For a skeleton he looks very relaxed leaning against his breakwater.
Water colour pencils ,Pitt Pens and water.

Trying not to be so exacting, a bit of a cartoon type of thing.
My first entry for the first Skineart theme of ‘feet’ that a few of us have decided to try and get going on a regular basis. Different theme every couple of weeks.Take a look at the forum entry ‘Lack of interest in forums’. Why not give it a go!
