2009Feb 22tags: Academy Art Center | Honolulu | ink and watercolorThe Academy Art Center is part of the Honolulu Academy of Arts and I have taken many different types of art classes here. It is a beautiful piece of architecture and the front steps are actually semicircular. However mine didn’t come out that way!
I believe it is built with blocks of coral, like many of our other older buildings.

2009Feb 15tags: San Francisco | watercolor pencils and Micron pensThis was an unseasonably warm day in San Francisco and I caught this runner cooling down after his 4 mile run to the Golden Gate Bridge and back. This jogging path is more beautiful now since it has been landscaped and made into a beautiful wetlands area, complete with a warming hut out near the bridge for the much needed cup of java.

2009Feb 10tags: sake | Watercolor and ink
As some of you may know, sake is not aged. Our dear friends gave us this precious gift of 20 year old sake and we saved a special evening to enjoy it. But alas, it was undrinkable! It was a pretty bottle with an elegant label though and I enjoyed drawing it. It’s the thought that counts! http://www.lindabachrach.com

2009Feb 5tags: chickens | jumpsuit by Bebe | Kapiolani Park | roosters | WaikikiThis page is a result of a morning walk into Waikiki where I was attracted to the jumpsuit in the BEBE Store, and on the way back I met these strange looking black chickens and roosters in Kapiolani Park. The one with the yellow feathers was quite regal.
